Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

Witness Ministry

umcdiscipleship.org indicates the Witness Ministry is one of the Discipleship Ministries within the United Methodist Church.
The Discipleship Ministries consist of the Nurture Team, the Outreach Team, and the Witness Team.
Each ministry team addresses the concerns and conditions of people in their congregations and communities so that they may grow in their spiritual lives and become better equipped for life as Christian disciples.
The Nurture Team, Outreach Team, and Witness Team work together to plan and implement ministries that help the church fulfill its mission.
Each team is familiar with the overall goals of the congregation and understands how its ministry contributes to those goals. Specifically, the Witness Team coordinates, plans, carries out, and evaluates the congregation’s witness ministries, helping all know and respond to the love of God in Christ.
This includes working with the Outreach Team to plan evangelistic outreach. To that end, the Witness Team worked with the Outreach Team in February 2020 to develop a Ministry Sign-up Sheet that was intended to be used to determine membership interests in voluntary evangelistic outreach opportunities.
Each week, the Witness Team reads the partitions of
members of Saint Andrews to the Lord in intercessory prayer, asking God to meet the needs and concerns of our congregation and beyond.
In addition to working with the Outreach Team,
the Witness Team works with the Nurture Team to set goals for congregational growth, visitation, and membership care.
The Witness Team is also looking forward to working with the Nurture Team to set goals for implementing an organized structure for the Sunday School that may be used for congregational growth, fellowship, and membership care.
To that end, the Witness Team sponsors a weekly Wednesday morning Prayer Line conference call, at 6:30 a.m. Members of Saint Andrews UMC are encouraged to submit their prayer requests to the Witness Team Coordinator.
