OUR VISION: "TO GROW PEOPLE WHO GROW PEOPLE"

ABOUT US

ABOUT US

"To impact lives and make disciples by sharing the Christian faith as we interact in the community."

Our Mission:

We are a church rich with history, but also excited about the future.
We are striving to become a multicultural church family that will welcome and encourage you.
We hope you find God's blessings by worshiping Him and going where he leads.
We cordially invite you to please join for Sunday Services. We’re sure you’ll feel welcome and experience the heartfelt praise, and worship of our Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Rev. Carol Grant Gibson, Senior Pastor

Our doors are always open and it would be our pleasure to welcome you into the life of this church. May the Lord continue to richly bless you as you grow closer to Him.
We believe God’s love for the world is an active, and engaged love, a love seeking justice and liberty. We cannot just be an observer.
So we care enough about people’s lives to risk interpreting God’s love, to take a stand, to call each of us into a response, no matter how controversial or complex.
The church helps us think and act out a faith perspective, not just go along with what appears to be the most popular choice.

WHAT WE BELIEVE . . .

  • John Wesley and the early Methodists placed primary emphasis on Christian living, on putting faith and love into action.

  • This emphasis on what Wesley referred to as "practical divinity" has continued to be a hallmark of United Methodism today. .

Introduction . . .
  • When we say the Apostles' Creed, we join with millions of Christians through the ages in an understanding of God as a Trinity; three persons in one: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

Our Christian Roots: The Church

  • We believe that the church is the body of Christ, an extension of Christ’s life and ministry in the world today.

  • We believe that the mission of the church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Introduction . . .

  • We believe that the church is “the communion of saints,” a community made up of all past, present, and future disciples of Christ.

  • We believe that the church is called to worship God and to support those who participate in its life as they grow in faith.

Our Christian Roots: Human Beings

  • We believe that God created human beings in God’s image.

  • We believe that humans can choose to accept or reject a relationship with God.

  • We believe that all humans need to be in relationship with God in order to be fully human.

  • When we sin, or turn our backs on God and God's expectations for us, we break our relationship with God.

  • Through God's grace, we are restored and reunited with God, with creation, and with the persons God intended us to be.
