Our Lenton Season
Lent is a period of preparation before celebrating the Lord’s Resurrection at Easter.

What is Lent?
Lent is the Christian season of preparation before Easter.
The Lenten season is a time when many Christians observe a period of fasting, repentance, moderation, self-denial and spiritual discipline.
The purpose is to set aside time for reflection on Jesus Christ—his love for us demonstrated by His birth, suffering, his sacrifice, his life, death, burial, and resurrection.
Annual Lenten Bible Study
To be held each Sunday beginning Sunday,
March 9, and ending April 13.
The study will start at 9:00 a.m. and end at 9:50 a.m.
Every member of SAUMC is invited to join together as
one Unified Class via Zoom and/or telephone conference call.
The Lenten handout points out the purpose of Lent,
lists the facilitators, scriptures, questions, and how to join the Study.
Please study the scriptures which form the foundation of the lessons, and bring your question sheets each Sunday.
The Sunday School Superintendent has requested that all SS classes join
the Lent Bible Study as no Sunday School classes are to be conducted by anyone during Lent.
For the next few Sundays, you may obtain the Lent Handout from the ushers
or from the tables at the two main entrances to the church.
